From the President...

RCHFH is gearing up for an exciting Fall.  We will break ground on our 50th home in coming months, and in honor of that achievement, we have two occasions for people to gather in celebration.  Our 15th annual Chicken Dinner will be at the Eagles Lodge on September 22.  We are also excited about hosting our first Gala event at the Capitol Plaza on Thursday, November 16.  That event will include a silent auction and a live auction of some original paintings by talented local artists.

Once again, we are grateful to so many of you for volunteering and for making financial contributions to support our mission.

I began my tenure as Board President in July.  My friend and predecessor Rob Goth left big shoes to fill, and I know this will be an exciting year in the fight to end poverty housing in Jefferson City.  Hope to see you this fall at one of our events or on the job site!

Sincerely,
James Stark, Septagon Construction
RCHFH President and Construction Manager

Lee Standard to Represent RCHFH at Whirlpool Blitz Build in November

Tuesday Crew volunteer and Building Committee member Lee Standard has been chosen by RCHFH to represent them at the Whirlpool Blitz Build, Building Blocks 2006: Nashville, November 4-11.  RCHFH was one of 100 affiliates selected to send representatives to this build.  Three hundred individuals will work together to build 10 homes in one week.

RCHFH President James Stark said, “Lee will make a great representative for us.  He is a hard worker who has the mission of Habitat in his heart.”

Lee resides in Jefferson City with his wife, Kathy, and is a member of Concord Baptist Church.  He has been involved with RCHFH for 2 and a half years.  Retired from MODOT since May of 2001, Lee enjoys working on set construction with the Stained Glass Theatre, and has gone on five Mission trips with his wife.  He says, “I enjoy mission trips and look at this as a mission trip on behalf of Habitat.  This will be a good opportunity to give something back to the community and meet some great people, and I look forward to it.”

With Gratitude...

Habitat would be nothing without the generous support of local businesses.  Here are just a few of those that have supported our mission in recent months.

We’re Looking for Partners in Faith

RCHFH is a Christian organization founded on an idea known as “The Economics of Jesus.”

  1. God blesses what we offer and turns it into the miraculous.
  2. God expects us to share our resources.
  3. Our work is a response to God’s love.
  4. Grace and love abound for all, equally.

We are seeking area congregations to prayerfully  partner with RCHFH by pledging an annual financial gift and providing labor and lunch for at least one Saturday build.

Would your church family be interested in joining RCHFH as a Partner in Faith?  For more information on this multi-faceted program, or to request a presentation, please contact Kelly Smith at 635-8439 or kelly_rchfh@earthlink.net.
