How Re-Store Works

The Habitat Re-Store accepts your donations of new and used building materials and fixtures.  Donations that are new and meet the specifications of our floor plans are used in construction of our homes, the rest is sold to the general public at modest prices.  The Re-Store has more than 6,000 square feet of items for sale, a great place to browse!  The donations of these materials reduce landfill and disposal costs.  Donations may be tax-deductible and a receipt will be provided when the donation is made during our business hours.  The Re-Store is run on volunteer manpower and can be a rewarding experience for anyone interested in helping.  Proceeds benefit Habitat's affordable housing program in addition to the environment, the building industry and the community.

Pick-up Service

We now offer a pick-up service if you are not able to bring your donation to us.  You need to call the Re-Store during their business hours at 635-6106 to schedule a pick-up.  Volunteers are available to pick-up your donation on Thursday and Saturday mornings.  

Materials Accepted

Re-Store gladly accepts donation of building materials in good, reusable condition.  New materials are also accepted.  Re-Store contributes to conservation by facilitating the re-use of building materials.  By re-using materials, items are kept out of the landfill sites and diverted from the waste stream.  Requirements:  carpets must be clean with no rips, tears, or breakage; appliances must be in 100 percent working condition and clean; lumber and drywall should be full or half length sheets (no scrap); and doors and windows cannot be rotted.  We do not accept clothing or household items.

Re-Store News

All proceeds benefit the housing ministry.

Do you have a room that needs floor covering to handle a lot of traffic and still look good? Do you have a room that needs floor covering but you don’t want to spend a  lot of money for it? Possi­bly a rec room, cabin or workshop? We have what you need. We have received a large shipment of carpet tile that is in great condition. Only $2.50 per square yard. Once laid you can’t tell if it is one piece of carpet or lots of tiles. We also have the adhesive to lay the tile. Only $.50 per tube or $10.00 for a case. You won’t find a better deal in town.

Besides the carpet tile and adhesive we have lots of great bargains and inventory. We have furni­ture, major appliances, microwaves, computer monitors in addition to our large supply of building materials such as doors, windows, siding and trim. We also have a large supply of new wallpa­per and border donated by Beautiful Home Interiors.

The Re‑Store is open to the public for donations and sales. Many donations are new, some used but all in good condition. Come see what we are about. A great place to shop if you want a good bargain.

Job Description 

Location: Habitat Re-Store
1420 Creek Trail Drive
Jefferson City, Mo. 65109 

Store Hours: Thursday 9:00 to 12:00 AM 

Friday 12:30 to 5:00 PM 

Saturday 9:00 to 12:00 AM 

Volunteer may choose the day and time to work.
Extended hours or additional days could be available as the number of volunteers increases. 

Positions Available:

Service Counter Clerk

  • Accepts payments for purchases, operates the credit card machine, validates personal checks, and makes change.
  • Answers customers questions either in person or on the phone.
  • Prepares a deposit and reconciles the days receipts.
  • Prices new donations and places them on the shelves in the service counter area.
  • Assists in other areas a needed. 

Floor Clerk

  • Assists customers with their purchases.
  • Prepares sales receipts for the customers.
  • Moves and helps load purchases.
  • Prices new donations and places them on the floor.Assists in other areas as needed. 

Pick Up Assistant

  • Assists with pick up service by riding in the truck and helping with loading and unloading of donations.
  • Assists in other areas as needed.
